The sixth issue of the Bio-HyPP Newsletter presents the project development in the latest months. In particular, the assembly and commissioning of the test rigs carried out by DLR, including both the MGT test rig (real MGT with emulated SOFC) and the SOFC test rig (real SOFC with emulated MGT) are described.
A new full-length paper, based on Bio-HyPP activities, has been published by DLR partners in a special edition of Applied Energy. The paper is titled “Numerical analysis of operating range and SOFC-off-gas combustor requirements of a biogas powered SOFC-MGT hybrid power plant”. The paper investigates the use of biogas of different quality as fuel for […]
Prof. Alberto Traverso, from University of Genoa, attended the ASME Turbo Expo’18 in Oslo, Norway, chairing and presenting at the tutorial session “Introduction to Dynamic Analysis and Modelling of Plant Systems”. The session introduced the audience to the principles behind energy system dynamic behaviour and methods for prediction or simulation and impact on materials. Results […]
The Second Stakeholders’ Vision document (D5.6) is available for download in the Public Document-Deliverables section. The core of the document is represented by the collection and extended analysis of the responses of Stakeholders Group Members performed through a second online consultation, targeting in particular the topics related to the future business model to be applied […]
The fifth issue fo the Bio-HyPP Newsletter presents the improvements achieved for hybrid power plant components. In particular the work carried out by DLR, UNIGE and NETL is presented. DLR investigated theoretically and experimentally the influence of biogas on the auxiliary systems of the SOFC system (reformer and anode gas recirculation device) confirming the suitability of […]
Alberto Traverso, from UNIGE, received the Best Paper Award from the Global Power Propulsion Society for the paper “Gas Turbine Advanced Power Systems to improve SOFC economic viability”, presented at the GPPS Forum 2017, Zurich, Switzerland published in the framework of the Bio-HyPP Project. […]
